Red-
quickness, energy, immediacy, swift changes, emotional intensity, courage, warning/danger, sexual, passion, negative association of fear and control

danger

Orange- creativity, freedom of expression, free spirit, ability to grasp mental concepts, adaptability, can be used to treat lung disorder and depression, made from energy/change (red) and intellect/ego (yellow)

Yellow- intellect, ego, career issues, organization, discipline, business/analytical, political motivations, can be used to treat melancoly/depression, jaundice, positive effect on liver, stomach and bladder

Green- color of the heart, relates to love issues, relationships, new foundations or beginnings (i.e. work, family), unconditional love, teaching, God vs. self and others, made up of ego and intellect (yellow) and adds to honesty, communication and loyalty (blue)– this can also be envy- (the yellow ego + relationships)

Blue- honest communication, trust and forgiveness issues, manifesting creative energies into reality, meditation, health, color of angels

Purple- spititual, intuition, psychic connections, ethics, "third eye" (sixth sense), royality, higher order, made from action/energy (red) and communication/intercessions (blue)

Black- giving oneself to a "higher order", influenced, accents provide emphasis of pure hues, when added to hues tends to "weigh down" or ground that hue– people want to bring that influence to them (where as with white people want to give that influence to others)

White- purity, Christ light, pure thought, sanitized, cleanliness

Examples:
Red and yellow are used together in many fast food restaurants. Red encourages people to be quick, order a lot and emphasizes the immediacy of fast food, while yellow aids in the digestion.

Red is often used as a power color-hence the red power tie and the red carpet used for celebrities. It is also used to denote warning and danger- the stop sign and the flashing red lights of emergency vehicles.

Blue is used in hospitals and health organizations to symbolize health and trust as well as many businesses that need their clients to trust them, e.g. financial businesses.

Purple and white are used in many churches to symbolize a higher order and purity.

White is worn by brides to show purity and doctors to show cleanliness.
